The new PC

Joy's PC is on it's way out the door (by out the door I mean reloaded with Ubuntu and turned into my new web server) so we had to get her a new one to work on. We took a chance and bought a ZT system from QVC. It's a new brand out there that I thought was going to be pretty cheap but get the job done.

It turns out that the PC is pretty nice... shockingly nice is a better way to put it. It's a dual core Athlon 2.6 GHz with 4 GB of DDR RAM and a 320 Gb Seagate HDD. It came with a 19 inch flat screen and get this... a valid copy of Windows Vista Home Premium! I know you don't think that is a big deal but... for the first time that I can remember, I own a legal copy of a Windows product. I know... I'm speechless. I tweaked it out and got the annoying security pop ups to die (it's User Account Control if you want to get rid of it like I did) and I might just keep it loaded.... naw, I'll wipe it tonight!

The only problem was a broken speaker which I used my years of technical expertise to fix...

with duct tape!

So, the darn thing fired right up and runs really well. We'll see how it handles the long road ahead but so far so good. It even has pretty good cooling and is running at a steady in the low 50's.

Oh, and by popular demand... here's a picture of Seri's painted feet.

It was 750 bucks at QVC and I would definatly recomend it. It is a really fast PC. The only problem with it is that it comes with a low end video card and cannot play any of the newer games that are out... which is no problem for Joy since it's her work PC. It's a great deal for a really good COMPUTTER
